Do You Have Enough Time In The Day To Do What You Want?
September 25, 2007 |
After an extended summer holiday from this blog, I am recharged and ready to share more of my experiences with you
Over the last few months, I have been feeling rather stressed because I found that I did not have enough time in the day to do everything I needed to do - let alone time to do what I wanted to do! And more things were building up
One obvious answer would be to do less! This felt like a cop out to me and so I sucked up the stress and outwardly carried on as normal - readers are invited to comment on whether I was just fooling myself!
During the Anthony Robbins’ Unleash The Power Within event in Sydney a few weeks ago, I Decided, Committed and Resolved to get to the bottom of this and set up a strong foundation for the future
I wrote down (as a draft to get things going - it did not need to be absolutely perfect straight away! It was most important to start) the various aspects of my life and how many hours I would like to allocate to each of them each day, week, month and year:
- my wife
- Food
- Finance
- Fun
- Fitness
- Sleep - a major Foundation of Health
- Friends
- Flexible - Freedom
- Facilitation
- there were a few other words that started with ‘F’ as well
- Full of Abundance
AND surprisingly there was more than enough time in the day to do what I wanted. I also added an amount of ’slack time’ for each day to encourage spontaneity and a sense of freedom
In other words the ‘reality’ in my mind was different to actuality!
Since then, life have been much less stressed ![]()
It was important to write down the list. Why? I could have done it im head, but by writing these items down instead of just thinking about them, I created a stronger message and communication to my unconscious mind that there would be even more harmony in life and that it could relax while my conscious mind took care of things. When I wrote them down I talked to myself (silently! in my head), saw the list and felt the sensation of the writing
It was also important that as soon as I thought of something to do related to this, that I IMMEDIATELY did it. Why?
- Up pops a concscious thought brought about by unconscious emotional stress
- Conscious mind HUA’s it (Heard, Understood, Acknowledged) to the unconscious mind
- Immediate action is taken to address it:
– sometimes everything was completed
– sometimes just the first step was completed
– sometimes just adding it to a reminder list for the future
- Unconscious mind is happy that progress is being made
- Unconscious mind relaxes
- Stress disappears
I am achieving more of the items that need doing AND having more time for fun as well
I highly recommend it
Good luck and more importantly: Good Thoughts
